About Music Together®
Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music programme for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and their parents or caregivers. First offered to the public in 1987, it pioneered the concept of a research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement.

Basic Principles of the Music Together Philosophy
1. All children are musical. 2. Therefore, all children can achieve basic music competence, here defined as the ability to sing in tune and move with accurate rhythm.
3. The participation and modeling of parents and caregivers, regardless of their musical ability, is essential to a child's musical growth.
4. This growth is best achieved in a playful, developmentally appropriate, non-performance-oriented learning environment that is musically rich yet immediately accessible to the child's - and the adult's - participation.

Song Collections
Music Together has developed nine non-sequential song collections, each characterized by its own graphic, colour, and instrument. These collections each include a recording and songbook and are designed to be used one collection per semester. A family can begin Music Together classes at any semester with any collection.
The music is pitched in just the right range for children’s voices and includes songs, rhythmic chants, tonal and rhythm patterns, and instrumental play-alongs, all in a rich variety of tonalities and meters. Original songs and arrangements by the programme co-authors make these collections especially unique. Outstanding instrumentalists play a variety of instruments, such as guitar, bass, flutes, keyboards, and percussion.

Music Together with DingDong
Music Together with DingDong is fun ! We sing, dance, play simple musical instruments, do chants, fingerplays, rhythm games and a rich variety of other music and movement activities. By emphasizing actual music experiences rather than concepts about music, the children get introduced to the pleasures of making music instead of passively receiving it from CD's or TV.
Classes are designed for mixed age-groups (newborns to five year-olds). Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones. Each child participates at his or her own level. The children are free to participate, or not, in any manner which suits them that day. Some may choose to sit and watch, absorbing the rich musical environment, while others may choose to move and sing.
Music Together promotes the idea of 'making music together as a family' in an informal setting rather than a performance-based programme where the child is required to meet certain expectations. Very young children learn best when given the chance to experiment and play on their own.
Classes are carried out in English. However, if your child is not an English-speaker this would not prevent them from participating since the accent is very much on music and movement.
DingDong offers four terms a year: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. Dates for 2012 are: Winter Term: 11 January - 31 March. Spring Term: 18 April - 7 July. Summer Term: t.b.c. Fall Term: 19 September - 16 December.
